- 27th July 1948 - Born in Uppsala, Sweden
- 1967-1974 - Studied Statistics and Medicine at Uppsala University
- 1972 - Studied Public Health at St John's Medical College in Bangalore, India
- 1976 - Became a licensed physician
- 1979-1981 - Served as District Medical Officer in Nacala in northern Mozambique
- 1981 - Began investigating an outbreak of Konzo, a paralytic disease first described in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His investigations earned him a PhD at Upppsala University in 1986
- 2009 - Listed as one of 100 leading global thinkers by Foreign Policy
- 2011 - Listed as one of 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company
- 2011 - Elected member of the Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences
- 2012 - Elected member of the Swedish Academy of Sciences
- 2012 - Included in the Time 100 list of the world's 100 most influential people
- 7th February 2017 - A year after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, Rosling died in Sweden, at the age of 68
